Extension Comment Period on Draft Environmental Impact Statement, Lake Tapps Water Rights and Supply Project

Media Release (PDF >)

On January 29, 2010, Cascade Water Alliance published a Notice of Availability and Request for Comments on Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Draft EIS) prepared for the Lake Tapps Reservoir Water Rights and Supply Project (Project) in compliance with the Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) under Chapter 43.21C RCW. Cascade Water Alliance (Cascade) is the project proponent and lead agency.

As a courtesy to you, we want you to know that the comment period on the Draft EIS which, on April 9, 2010 was extended to April 30, 2010, has been extended to May 21, 2010 in order to provide an overlap between the Draft EIS and the on-line publication by the Department of Ecology’s Draft Report of Examinations.

The Draft EIS remains available to the public online on our Lake Tapps Water Rights page. Copies are also available for review at the following libraries: King County Library System Branches – Redmond Regional, Bellevue Regional, Issaquah, Tukwila, Covington, and Auburn; Pierce County Library System branches – Bonney Lake and Sumner; and the University of Washington Suzzallo Library. Background materials can be viewed at Cascade’s office at the address listed below.

The Draft EIS is also available on compact disc (CD) for a cost of $5, or printed copy for $200, from the following address:
