For the second year, Cascade provided toilet leak detection dye strips to all its residential customers. The dye strips were mailed in May to over 100,000 homes throughout the region. The dye strips allowed customers to check the flapper valves in their toilets for leaks.
A leaking toilet can waste thousands of gallons of water per year, and the water that goes into your toilet is the same high quality drinking water that flows from your tap. A follow-up survey indicated that over 50 percent of customers recalled receiving the dye strips and almost all of them used the strips. A significant number of customers also reported finding and fixing leaks as a result of receiving the dye strips. Keep up the good work Cascade customers!
