Water conservation is a critical part of Cascade's supply management strategy. Conservation helps ensure a reliable supply of drinking water, keeps utility operating costs lower and allows more water to stay in streams.

Repairing leaks around the home is a great way to conserve. March 15 – 19, 2010 is national Fix A Leak Week. Cascade is participating by mailing toilet leak detection dye to all single-family residences in its member service areas. A leaking toilet can waste 10,000 gallons of water per year or more! Remember, the water used for flushing your toilet is the same high quality water we use for drinking, bathing and washing clothes. It’s a terrible waste to let it leak through your toilet. In most cases, repairing a leaking toilet is easy and inexpensive. Click here to see how to repair a leaking toilet.

If you find your toilet is leaking, visit the Sammamish Ace Hardware or any McLendon Hardware store from March 15 – April 15 for special discounts on replacement toilet flappers and other toilet repair parts.

If you didn't receive your leak detection dye or if you need additional dye, you can visit the "Free Stuff" page to order dye. Cascade provides these items at no charge, but we ask customers to pay for postage.

If you live outside Cascade member areas, check with your water provider to see if they are offering leak detection dye. Here are links to Woodinville Water District and Northshore Utility District.
